Adding 18% GST to ₹10,000 gives an invoice total of ₹11,800. For a sale within your state, the tax is split equally between CGST and SGST.

Add GST: GST = amount × rate; gross = amount + GST. Remove GST: net = amount ÷ (1 + rate). Since 22 September 2025 most goods and services fall under 5% or 18%, with 40% for certain luxury and sin goods; 12% and 28% are kept here for older invoices. Always verify the current rate for your HSN/SAC code. Amounts rounded to the paisa. Calculated in your browser; nothing is stored.

About

About this tool

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is charged on most supplies in India. This calculator works in both directions: add GST to a net price to get the invoice total, or remove GST from an inclusive price to find the taxable value and the tax inside it.

For a sale within the same state, GST is split equally into Central GST (CGST) and State GST (SGST, or UTGST in union territories). For a sale to another state, the whole amount is Integrated GST (IGST). Switch between the two to get the right breakdown for your invoice, then copy it in one click.

Since the September 2025 rate changes, most goods and services fall under 5% or 18%, with 40% for certain luxury and sin goods, plus special rates such as 3% for gold and 0.25% for rough diamonds. The older 12% and 28% rates are kept for past invoices. Rates depend on the exact HSN or SAC code, so always confirm the current rate on the official GST portal or with your accountant.
